As a member of the B.C.J.M. Board I currently serve as secretary and one of our liaisons in reaching out to local churches and connecting them with the ministry.
I know that inmates often have reached "rock bottom" and often find themselves not at peace with themselves, their families, others and God.
B.C.J.M. provides opportunities and encouragement to build his/her life on the solid foundation of trusting and obeying the God of reconciliation.. Also, correctional officers have jobs that are extremely demanding and one of the ways they can find spiritual encouragement is through the B.C.J.M. I consider it a privilege to be involved in this ministry that helps inmates and correctional officers know God is real and see lives change for the better for now and eternity.
On a personal note, I am thankful to be a husband, dad and grandpa. My wife and I enjoy road trips and our extended family often goes on bike rides, boating adventures and hikes. We also enjoy being a family that sings together whether in the living room, at a church or in a nursing home. Also, as a retired music teacher I still enjoy finding opportunities to share the gift of music with people of all ages.
Jesus said, "Whatever you do for the least of my brothers, that you do unto me."
Whether on my own, with my family, our local church or the B.C.J.M., it is a privilege to engage in ways to show others the love that God first showed us.
